• open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• staffed by women who are trained to be supportive and respond to the needs of abused women in crisis

• shelter for women and their children for 30 days
• food and other essentials at no cost for residents of the house
• emotional support and peer counseling for women and their children
• practical information such as legal remedies, income assistance, employment, housing, day care, job training programs and other resources in the community
• referrals for individual, marital and family counselling if desired

• ANY woman, with or without children, who has been physically, emotionally or sexually abused
• women taking their children away from abuse
